Virtual tours, the new standard for local authorities

Added to the council website, a virtual tour opens your buildings to residents and keeps a survey of every facility.

  • 01

    Make your facilities visible

Residents and local groups see the halls, sports centres and library before they book.

  • 02

    Prepare works without measuring again

The 3D survey provides the basis for the plans and the BIM model when works begin.

  • 03

Open the town hall to people who cannot come

For people with reduced mobility, new residents or councillors on the move, the building can be toured 24/7.

Three buildings, one tour for residents

Town hall

Welcome residents before they make the trip and show them the council chamber and the services. The town hall becomes accessible to everyone.

Sports facilities

Clubs, local groups and residents discover the sports halls, gyms and indoor pitches, with their access, before booking a slot.

Community halls

Village hall, multi-purpose hall or meeting room: residents see the space and the layout before booking, without an appointment on site.

Three features that serve your buildings

Every option on the platform is available on every tour. Here are the three that matter most to a local authority.

  • BIM model of a commercial building shared between the architect, the electrician and the plumber

The point cloud and the BIM model

A centimetre-level LiDAR survey of your buildings, modelled from LOD 200 to LOD 350 depending on the stage of the works.

  • Points of interest to guide residents

Opening hours, step-free access and room capacities appear in the right place in the tour.

At the entrance of a brick building, a visitor asks what the room looked like before the works; the ‘Before: the living room’ information point answers with the photo See points of interest →
  • Point cloud of council buildings and their hierarchy: town hall, school, presbytery, facilities

The building health record for your estate

Your questions about virtual tours for local authorities

Timings, sharing, surveying your buildings. Everything you need to know before launching virtual tours of your facilities.

  • How much does a survey of a council building cost?

The price depends on the floor area, the layout and the deliverables you choose. The agency in your area sends you a tailored proposal after a short conversation, within 24 business hours. Each agency in the network sets its own prices freely.

  • How long does it take?

The virtual tour is delivered within 48 business hours of the capture. The plans, the point cloud and the BIM model have their own timescale, set out in the proposal.

  • Can the tour go on the council website?

Yes. A share link and an embed code are all it takes. The tour appears on the council website, in a news item or on your social media. It opens in a browser, on a computer or a phone.

  • Does the building stay open during the capture?

Yes. The capture is planned with your departments, at a quiet time or outside public opening hours. It is carried out space by space. How long it takes depends on the floor area and the number of spaces, and you are told before the visit.

  • Can I see who views the tour?

Yes, with the viewing statistics option. You follow the number of views of the tour and how they change over time.

  • Can we survey several of the council's buildings?

Yes. The agency in your area plans the captures building by building, with a consistent result from one site to the next. The data can then be brought together in your estate's building health record, by subscription. That is what the council of Venerque did for its municipal buildings.
